Transforming Walthamstow with volumetric Build to Rent living
Overview
Forming part of the wider regeneration of Walthamstow Mall, Assael designed 495 Build to Rent homes across two buildings of 34 and 27 storeys, which is being delivered using off-site volumetric construction.
Originally designed by Assael for Capital & Regional, we have been working with Tide Construction and Vision Volumetric, to deliver the scheme for Long Harbour Ltd., using Vision’s unique volumetric system.
The two dynamic point buildings sit within the bustling town centre and at the heart of the wider regeneration of the mall, providing over 2,000 sqm shared amenity and commercial space alongside the 495 apartments. The overall masterplan will deliver 538 new homes, a new TfL underground entrance, new retail space and improvements to the town square.
The efficiency of the DfMA approach enabled 1,375 volumetric units to be delivered in a reduced programme of 21 working weeks, in addition to reduced waste and carbon emissions, improved delivery quality and minimised disruption to the local community.
