Assael kicks off 2026 with key promotions and appointment of Director
We are delighted to announce key promotions that reflect our direction and ambition for the year ahead.
Allan Stringer has been appointed to the role of Compliance Director, reflecting his longstanding leadership in regulatory compliance across the practice. We also celebrate the promotions of Matt Wingrove to Associate and Rhys Waring to Senior Architect, acknowledging their ongoing effort and commitment to the practice.
Allan joined Assael in 2011, qualifying as an Architect the following year, and has steadily progressed through the practice. He has led major residential-led schemes across London and Manchester, including Millet Place, Brewery Gardens, Leaside Lock and significant Built to Rent projects in Southall and North Woolwich. Using this experience, he joined the RIBA Principal Designer register for higher-risk buildings in 2024.
Allan’s extensive knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and Assael’s internal policies has allowed him to develop and implement our compliance strategy including best-practice workflows across the design studios, shaping Assael’s technical standards and advising clients on the Building Safety Act. His leadership in this area makes his promotion to Director thoroughly deserved. We look forward to how his expertise will continue to enhance our technical excellence as a practice and support the delivery of robust, high-quality schemes.
Matt joined Assael in 2025 as a Senior Architect, bringing over a decade of experience across a diverse range of projects. As an integral member of the implementation team, he has played a key role in leading the external envelope design and coordination for the Pier Road scheme – a transformative residential development within the Royal Docks and Beckton Riverside Opportunity Area. The project will deliver new homes alongside public and commercial spaces in Woolwich for Populo Living and The Hill Group. He has also joined the team on Chiswick Tower, retrofitting the existing building and adding new building extensions to provide Build to Rent apartments for JRL Group. Matt’s strong technical expertise throughout the implementation stages makes his promotion to Associate thoroughly well deserved.
Rhys joined Assael in 2025, bringing extensive experience as an architect specialising in residential projects. He quickly established himself as a key member of the implementation team, making a significant contribution to the High Street Woking scheme, which will deliver co-living studios alongside a range of shared amenities for JRL Group and Halcyon. As well as working on delivery stages for Plot 23, Brent Cross Town for Halcyon & Related Argent. His promotion to Senior Architect reflects his strong technical skills, particularly his ability to navigate emerging changes in industry regulations, making him a strong asset in supporting his team through the RIBA delivery stages.
Congratulations again to Allan, Matt, and Rhys on your well-earned promotions. We look forward to seeing your continued achievements at Assael.
