Assael were approached by Westminster council to produce designs for an exemplary residential development to replace a redundant office block and multi-storey car park near Victoria Station.

The design is based around a seven-storey atrium in the centre of the site which contains timber-clad lifts and bridges that give access to all the apartments. This space will encourage a sense of community lacking in many contemporary residential developments, and provide a naturally ventilated and daylit amenity that will benefit all the residents, including those in the rented and shared ownership apartments.

The principal facades of the building have been designed in collaboration with the artist Sophie Smallhorn, and consist of a horizontal sequence of coloured aluminium panels set within a Portland stone frame. The upper storeys are clad in zinc and have rooftop terraces with views across the City of Westminster.
