The site, formerly a department store for Tyrell & Green of
the John Lewis Partnership, is to be redeveloped to provide a visual
arts facility for the John Hansard Gallery and a performance arts
centre containing three flexible performance spaces.
The arts facilities will be clustered around a new street which
will penetrate through the site.
The mixed-use development will incorporate approximately 200 apartments
and will include 25% affordable housing, bringing new residential
accommodation into the heart of the city.
