This was a development framework design for a 4.7ha site on Morecambe Seafront.
Our concept was to design an "active" landscape element that served as the site's principle organisational framework device. With its undulating topography, the landscape controlled pedestrian flow through, under and over the site, hid vehicles beneath, formed a roofscape over the various retail, bars, cafes, restaurants and other public uses, provided shelter from the wind, created new vantage points across the bay and provided an attractive green space for new residents and the wider public.
